Pretty easily. You got it worse than some of us. I don't think everyone played Sleeping Beauty on the city streets, so I'm guessing it's still in your head.
...
You alright?
[Why the hell was she getting over-invested in this guy? Honestly, she was chalking it up to losing too many people here. She'd gotten used to talking to people.]
I'm going to take a wild stab and guess that you've been wherever you thought you were in that waking nightmare at some point, which qualifies as worse right there?
I got the recipe when Draco left the first time. It helps when natural stuff doesn't work, since it pretty much guarantees you have a dreamless sleep. Little pricey, but with some of the crap we deal with, it's also good to make sure some folks get the rest they need.
...I might have to take you up on that someday. [Being exhausted kind of sucked, but at least he hadn't had any nightmares thanks to it. But knowing what he does now of the unchangeable fate ahead of him...
Yeah, sleeping draughts sound like they'd come in handy.]
What other kinds of things do you have? Just outta curiosity.
Poisons, some curatives. They're not as powerful as healing magic, but it's better than a splint or bandage. I've got some egg bombs with a bit of poison in the powder. Can knock someone out for a minute or so or choke them some. Invisibility potion that works for a short bit, but it's got a nasty kick.
Some interesting stuff if you want to stop by and check it out.
Yeah, I am. Open most days actually. We're over in Loki, across from the Hospital in Sigyn. Pinch of Sage. I'll give you the low down on the potions if you stop by, maybe show you the golem. ...kind of boring, really, but some people find it interesting.
[Hey, if he could tolerate the odd looks she gave him sometimes, she wouldn't mind the company too much. She got a weird feeling from him, but not necessarily a bad one.]</small.
Yep. I had one installed in the lab to keep the product secure. We had break-ins a while back and you don't want the types of things I make in the hands of the enemy.
I keep a stone one back there. Not very friendly, but he does his job.
Now I gotta take a look! I'll be over there soon, 'kay?
[Aw yeah cool things for distractions let's do this. He'll show up eventually - it's not terribly far from Hel to Loki. He'll even knock a bit over enthusiastically once he shows up.]
[The front door opens easily enough, and he'd find himself in a cramped front space. The 'Shop' was little more than an old-world pharmacist's booth. There was a single table set into the side with two chairs, but otherwise, everything was behind the counter.
Racks of herbs hung in bunches behind it, and numerous herbal remedies were bottled in cannisters, along with a chalkboard containing all of the currently available potions and prices. There were still a small quantity of odd concoctions set aside that qualified as illicit drugs in some worlds, though not nearly as many as a year back. She'd restocked the bare minimums of those here. There was a war to fight.
Hearing the knock and door open, Sam made her way from the back. she knew the path he'd walked well, and when to expect him.]
You're like a kid in a candy store.
[That smelled of Parsley, sage, Rosemary and Thyme... and lots of garlic.]
We don't have stuff like this where I'm from. It's interestin'!
[Don't mind him wandering around to take a good look at everything, lingering a bit around those odd concoctions more out of amused curiosity than anything else.]
You don't? Well, I guess not all worlds have an apothecary. [She chuckled and glanced where he was looking. There were a lot of simple herbal remedies there, but a few of the more unusual ones could get someone in trouble in some places.]
medicines, potions, poisons. If you can bottle it, and it isn't beer, I probably have had it in stock at some point.
Heh, well did you have pharmacists? Without the magic, it's kid of the same thing honestly. But follow me. I'll show you the lab. [She motioned for him to come along with as she started to head back.]
I've got a greenhouse, but keeping up enough of the magic stock usually means going to Utgard for extras. The demand's too high.
It's exactly like chemistry, but with 'magic' instead of equations. I like thinking of it more like cooking honestly. Get the right combinations, right heat, stir it just so... that sort of thing.
And yeah, I needed access. We've got greenhouses in town, but they can only keep up so much. With a full out war, the supplies were running thin.
Right now, Night Oil. I'm almost out of stock to make it, until the last batch is ready for harvesting. I doubt I'll get another chance, so I want as much of it as I can.
Noxious stuff, but invisibility comes with a price, even if it doesn't last long.
[Just up ahead, the golem glanced over and then back to its post with a wave of her hand. The thing was big, blocky, stone and completely lacking in anything remotely like personality. She hadn't made it to be pretty after all.]
Dubh Cosc mostly. It's that ugly looking black, gnarled thing there that looks like roots for seaweed if they had proper roots. Smells worst. If you're going to help out, I need you to grind up some of that into powder.
[Sneaking into her shop was on the one hand easy. There were two entrances and locks only worked so well. On the other hand, everything was locked and most of the special stuff was booby trapped. That and the golem made it dangerous.
The greenhouse in the backyard, however, was easier. It was still locked and booby trapped, but there was no golem and she wasn't there at all in the evenings.]

[So very lucky.]
I've been worse, that's for sure.

That's a very good guess! But not exactly.
[The dream was worse. Much worse.]

Sort of... wanted to check in, though, see if you needed anything. I sell sleeping draughts, after all.
no subject
[...That might actually come in handy at some point.]
I'll have to keep it in mind. I don't think I ever checked out too much of what you've got, actually.

[Since it's not like he can just bug Ayumu whenever he likes anymore. Finding something else to occupy his time would be far better.]

[We don't talk about gods and devils and reborn Biblical figures and cursed bloodlines.]
So how do you make all this stuff, anyway? Do you just get the basic ingredients from around here and mix 'em all up, or what?
no subject
I've got a greenhouse, but keeping up enough of the magic stock usually means going to Utgard for extras. The demand's too high.

[He'd wondered about that with the ink mix for the runes... Though with the invitation, he'll go along and follow her.]
Guess it was a real relief for you when they finally cleared the way back then.

[So many ways to sneak around this place. He makes note of the golem, even giving it a cheerful wave despite how unlikely it seemed to respond.]
What're we makin' it with?
