Yo! Aah, this is unfortunate... Well, this and that came up, so it seems I can't answer the phone right now! I'm definitely not trying to ignore you, so please leave a message for me instead, OK?
[Whenever Hizumi gets up in the morning, he'll find Ayumu actually running a bit late making breakfast, for once. The reason why might be a bit apparent if Hizumi looks closely-- he looks exhausted, like he hasn't slept well at all, and on any other person, he'd seem even a bit jittery.
But the electric kettle was half empty but still steaming, with a nearly empty mug set next to it, so he's obviously been up a while.]
[And Hizumi trots on down to the kitchen with a wide yawn and a stretch - the perfect picture of someone who has slept well and good for the healthiest number of hours for his age group.
Well, not really, but he makes it look like it at least.
It's only natural that he'd see something off right away. They've been living with each other how long now?]
Whoa- You look like you got up on the wrong side of the bed.
They have been living with each other a long time now, so it's likely to be perfectly obvious he's not paying as much attention as he cooks-- and the meal isn't being prepared with the same attention to detail.
Though his hair looking more porcupine-ish than usual might clue him in as well. His reply is downright bland in it's tone.]
[No, he usually slept pretty soundly, all things considered. He moves when Hizumi nudges him over, letting him take care of the omelette while he reaches up to fetch a second mug and fill both his and the fresh one for Hizumi.]
I dreamt of... a mirror. A really creepy one, filled with images of disasters. [He picks up his own mug and sets the other near Hizumi, taking a sip of his own.]
...And a flying whale in a desert. It tried to eat me before something pulled me away and told me 'you aren't supposed to be here'. It was pretty bizarre even for a dream.
I don't usually dream of much of anything. [He sits down at the table, nursing his mug of tea. It was soothing his nightmare induced exhaustion just a bit, anyway.]
Did you put anything weird in last night's dinner? [Considering Hizumi's more unhealthy tastes in food....]
[He scowls a little, resting his head in a hand with a soft grumble. Yes, he is a bit grouchy this morning.] Broken mirrors, flying whales, sinking ships and crashing planes... It's not like any game I've seen in the arcade. I don't play them as much as you do, anyway.
Yeah, you're probably right. [honestly, he was just tired. He wasn't used to dreaming much, let alone nightmares, and it had made for less than restful sleep.
I'm fine. [They are not discussion the disappearance of she whose name he's 'forgotten'. Because it's awkward missing her when she's better off at home and he knows it.]
[Ayumu actually starts just slightly, spilling his tea on his hand with a hiss before turning around to scowl at Taro. Geez, what's the big deal sneaking up like that...] I can go. I'm fine.
[action] june 3rd, early morning.
But the electric kettle was half empty but still steaming, with a nearly empty mug set next to it, so he's obviously been up a while.]

I slept badly.

[He'll wander on over to the stove, nudging Ayumu's shoulder.]
Here, I can finish it off. Something happen last night?
[You're not the one who usually has the sleeping issues, man.]

Bizarre is kind of an understatement here, don't you think? You don't usually dream of flying whales, do you?
[Fold it over and... Done. He'll go ahead and dish it out onto a plate.]
Disasters, too. Aren't you supposed to be the optimistic one?

Did you put anything weird in last night's dinner? [Considering Hizumi's more unhealthy tastes in food....]

I didn't! And my dreams were normal, so it can't be that.
[When he puts down the plate, it's with a small huff.]
no subject
...No, he shouldn't think about her right now.] Well I don't usually have dreams, let alone anything that creepy.
no subject
Maybe you've been spending too much time staring at video games? But I don't think the arcade has anything with [ahem] flying whales...

[It's a pretty funny thought, you have to be honest.]
It's probably just a nightmare. Don't worry about it too much!

Thus the half emptied tea kettle.]

["Stressful" is apparently what we are calling the disappearance of a housemate these days.]
Just try not to fall asleep in class or anything and I'm sure it'll be fine.

Because it's awkward missing her when she's better off at home and he knows it.]I'll take a nap on the roof later if I have to.
[What.]

[He's already bored in class, how could you do this to him.]

[Whiiiiiiiiine. He's only attending because of Ayumu to begin with.]

[When did Taro get here? No one knows. He is a ninja.]

[Conceeeeeeeeeernface.]

How come he gets a free pass?!

Besides, you're not my guardian, you can't exactly 'call in' for me.
no subject
[Gonna go get some coffee yep.]
And I could figure out a way. If I can break into a museum, I can handle a school administrator.

[Now he sounds hurt. Where's the trust you guys-?]
...Do I even want to ask?
