[Your character wakes up on dry, barren dirt. Upon examination, they seem to be in a massive indoor garden with reinforced glass windows allowing in sunlight from a clear sky. However, the dirt itself is devoid of any life outside of some shriveled, dead plants, wilted away without receiving any care.
[Looks down, slit eyes adjusting easily to the dim depth... and sighs.]
It would have been far more useful if you'd brought Aster here. Diverse as my skills are, none of them involve bringing water to places where it's not.
[The garden shed is a little wooden structure on the southern end of the garden. Stepping in through the doorway will reveal a small, but tidy shed full of gardening supplies. The most notable items to be found are a watering can, shovels in various sizes, cement mix, fertilizer, and a bright green wooden trunk - though if your character is looking for a tool in particular, they can certainly dig around in search of it (which will be informed ICly if it can be found or not). There is also a small desk with a lamp and a thick book of plants with a bright green cover that characters are free to study.]
[The wooden door is unassuming, with a dirty, tarnished silver handle and a rather prominent keyhole. Interestingly, the door and its handle/lock seem to be impervious to damage.]
[The door, the lock, and the handle are impervious to damage. But the doorway is just an opening.
Breathing a little hard (his physique has improved since his first days aboard the Dreamdrift, but concrete is still heavy), he uses the broken chunk of patio to wedge the door open, leaving the path between the two gardens open and clear.]
The mound of wet concrete he shapes over the broken slab honestly isn't the most sightly of things, but he at least doesn't leave any fingerprints or messages pressed into it.]
[The patio is nothing special - a smooth slab of concrete in a large rectangle. The concrete is still brightly and clean, and does not look like it has been weathered by time whatsoever.]
[The garden shed is a little wooden structure on the southern end of the garden. Stepping in through the doorway will reveal a small, but tidy shed full of gardening supplies. The most notable items to be found are a watering can, shovels in various sizes, sledgehammer, fertilizer, and a bright red wooden trunk - though if your character is looking for a tool in particular, they can certainly dig around in search of it (which will be informed ICly if it can be found or not). There is also a small desk with a lamp and a thick book of plants with a bright red cover that characters are free to study.
[The wooden door is unassuming, with a clean bronze handle and a rather prominent keyhole. Interestingly, the door and its handle/lock seem to be impervious to damage.]
[Stepping through the bronze door reveals what appears to be the rooftop of an apartment in a metropolis. Green bars form fencing to prevent any deadly stumbles or mishaps, though the setting sun causes them to appear dark in the low lighting, the shadows they cast not unlike the bars of a jail cell.
A familiar boy with green hair grips one of the bars, staring out at the crimson sunset - or at least, he was. At the sound of the door, he turns to look over his shoulder curiously.]

Matching a pair of keys to their coordinated locks is hardly the part of all this I would call a challenge.
