Of all people... Kanon's here, too? He remembers only too well what happened the last time he met with Kanon, and he's certain Ayumu must know as well. After all, he'd been dealing with the aftermath of it not long before they arrived here.

It takes a moment for him to form an actual coherent response. This time, it's marked with both agitation and... fear?]

Rutherford is, too. Probably from around the same time by the looks of it.

[And Ayumu will receive an image of the younger Rutherford in turn, looking oddly calm for walking with Hizumi of all people.]

[Rutherford, too.....? They'd be on their own for a few months now, Ayumu hadn't really sincerely considered the possibility that this place could drag others from their world along, let alone people they knew. At least not recently.

And those two in particular.... if Eyes was from that point in time......]

That could both simplify and complicate things. [Rutherford and Hilbert stabilized each other, or did once from his knowledge of the two. It could be helpful in that way, but in others.....]

Does this Rutherford know who you are yet? I don't think Kanon Hilbert does.

Kanon Hilbert was older when I met him. [That, at least, he can be sure of.] I met Rutherford when I was ten. He recognized me right away.

Alright, so Rutherford knows. He's going to have to play along with whatever lie we come up with for this to work.

[And he would, too. If Ayumu had to tell him the potential reaction, how Kanon reacted in the future..... so be it. He didn't want to, but the dangers if Kanon found out were too severe.]

But because it's Rutherford, Kanon will believe anything he backs us on.

He'll work with us. If Kanon asks, I'm the first and last Blade Child from the second wave.

[He's not... terribly enthused, but given the circumstances, it ought to work well enough.]

[Good. If it was for Kanon's sake, he knew Eyes would at least be more inclined to help them, but that his cooperation had been gained so easily was a good thing.

Rutherford didn't need to know the reality of his brother's reaction to Hizumi's existence. He lets out a breath, before sending another response Hizumi's way.]
