[Luckily for Hizumi, Ayumu had actually made lunch prior to this since he'd planned for making sure they spent the day out of the welcome halls. No reason to give him an excuse.]

[And he will be, bundled up in his own jacket by some benches. It's a mystery how he can stand all those metal rings in the chill, but well, sometimes one must suffer for the sake of fashion.

By the time Ayumu arrives, he's got a look that's somewhere between thoughtful and outright bored as he watches some ducks on the pond, but he brightens immediately when he spots the other.]

Hey!

[Ayumu arrives only shortly after Hizumi, bundled up in his own, softer and more sedate looking coat. As he comes closer, it's apparent he's carrying something, a medium sized bag of some sort, in his arms.]

Hey. Have you been waiting long?

Not at all!

[So no need to worry, you worrywart. He looks curious about that bag, though.]

What's that you've got?

[Who's a worrywart? Ayumu holds the bag in question up before setting it down on one of the benches, extracting.... Two sack lunches. With what was being provided for them, it wasn't his usual level of intricacy, but it would be filling at least.] it's not much, but I made lunch.

[Heyyyy food!]

I was wonderin' what we were gonna do about that. Thanks!

[He'll grab one and quickly dig in with about the same gusto as ever. Ayumu's food is always a treat, even if he probably pays way more attention to health factors than they really ever need to since... Well, you know.]

[This meal is just as balanced as always, with grilled chicken sandwiches, apple slices and celery. He didn't have a lot to work with, but as typical of Ayumu, he made it work.] Neither of us have the money to eat out, so I made them before I called you.

[How do you even do it Ayumu. How even. He pauses between bites to reply:]

Had it all planned out, didn't you?

[Not that he exactly minds; it's more an observation than an accusation.]

[Skill and a keen preference for eating well, mainly. He settles on the bench after a moment, picking up his own sack lunch.] Of course. I didn't want us inside all day.

It's gonna be harder to do if the weather gets any worse. I wonder where else we can go...

[Assuming they aren't up to their necks in war by that point, anyway.]

[Yes, assuming they weren't embroiled in battle by then....] Rutherford said we could use the theater as a meeting place.... And there's also the library, if you prefer somewhere else.

[Of course he did. Hizumi, however, maintains a look of polite curiosity.]

The theater, huh... Were you thinkin' of practicin' piano there?

[...Somehow, Ayumu isn't even surprised he knows about that.

And after everything that's happened recently, he's not even sure where he stands anymore on that topic.]

....I don't know. Maybe.

[Big Brother knows all. And talks about it frequently to anyone and everyone apparently.]

If you wanna play, we can hang out there. I don't mind.

[Ayumu scowls a little at the self invite, not exactly sure he wants the company. Hizumi might not mind, but he did.]

You.... [He sighs.] We'll see.

[They were originally discussing places to go together, so of course he's going to tag along!! Though he does have to laugh a little; he can make a pretty good guess as to why Ayumu is so reluctant to return to the piano.]

Well, it's up to you. Wherever you wanna go is fine with me.

[And so he goes back to eating. Om nom nom.]

[Ayumu wasn't sure what he felt for sure, anymore. With the choice to help the Blade Children, he'd also resolved to stop holding himself back..... but....

For now, I'd like to spend a little more time in the library. The books there are insightful.

Just this world. [He takes another bite of his sandwich, at least willing to admit to himself he'd wanted the relative quiet of the library for a short while, after the events only a short while ago.]
