Just for a bit..... [He's already falling asleep, from the drowsy sound of his voice. He didn't much care about the ramifications right now, only that this is the most comfortable he's felt in days, and he's not really feeling up to giving up on that just yet. Just a few minutes, he'd be better after he closed his eyes....
There's a muffled mutter about eggs, and while he'd meant to say he'd make breakfast to make up for the inconvenience, it doesn't really come out intelligibly.]
[Hizumi doesn't even bother trying to answer, having settled down quite nicely himself. He's nowhere near as drowsy as Ayumu, but he's certainly still exhausted. His own head tilting slightly to lean on Ayumu's, he'll allow himself to relax, quietly enjoying the other's presence. Neither had made it out completely unscathed by any means, and even now there are still raw feelings, but...
For now, they're together again, and that's enough to ease at least a few of his own worries. And that alone is enough to allow him to doze, a fuller one than earlier in the night, anxious as he had been.
Until the Hall wards Ayumu away... they will be alright.]
Once before sleep. It will make your sleep dreamless and fast in coming. Be careful with it, though. Too often and it can be habit forming. There's worse habits out there, but you don't want to be dependent on it to sleep.
[Surprisingly, Ayumu manages about three hours of mostly solid sleep, quietly resting for most of that time, finally warm again after long, freezing hours on the road and curled a little around himself, he's quite comfortable. He's mostly a still sleeper-- well, until the effects of the house start to take their toll on him even in his sleep, his breathes growing short and tense and his shoulders curling inward.
He's back on the battlefield again, searching for Hizumi. He finds him laying there again, no spear pinning him to the ground, but still bleeding, still in pain. He wants to reach out, to try to stem the flow of blood, to help him, to do something....
And then suddenly, his reaching hand is the one holding the spear, stabbing down into the fellow teen's stomach ruthlessly, the sickening sensation of bone and flesh tearing felt even in his dreams. It's that which causes him to wake with a start, though not much of a reaction beyond a gasp and his head jerking upwards, fingers clenching the blanket a little tighter as reality reasserts itself.]
[Hizumi spends the majority of the time just barely on the verge of consciousness, occasionally slipping into light slumber only to awaken drowsily once more. As such, when Ayumu's head gives a jerk, he's back to wakefulness.]
--Hm?
[It's a sleepy sound, but a calm one. Why would it be anything else? He's quite comfortable right now, and hasn't been dreaming deeply enough to witness anything particularly terrifying.]
[Ayumu just sits there, breathing heavily for several moments, before shaking his head and pulling the blanket a little closer around himself to stave off the chill. He wasn't going to admit to what he'd dreamt. He didn't want to talk about that.]
Just the welcome hall getting to me, I think. Might need to leave soon.
[Maybe it was a bit cowardly to give a half truth, even if he was reasonably sure it was time to leave soon. He couldn't tell if it was the dream or the welcome hall that was doing it, though.]
[Hizumi regards him blearily for a few seconds, stifling a yawn. He's not completely convinced - he's pretty familiar with the effects of the Halls at this point, and he's fairly certain it shouldn't cause a reaction like that. But Ayumu's been through a lot recently, so he's not about to push it.]
S'probably been a few hours... Want me to walk with you to Sigyn?
[The offer is earnest, even if he doesn't expect Ayumu to take him up on it - a t-shirt and sweats aren't really going to protect him from the cold out there.]
Yeah, just sort of assume it's a little bit worse than the usual is all. [Once the last was in, she let it cook and leaned against the table.]
Probably the most exciting potion I ever make is one of the egg bombs, at least if you like the 'on the edge of your seat, don't screw this up' sort of excitement. If you're more in for the flash, that's probably the pink stuff. It's actually kind of ... fun, even if I don't sell it right now.
Aengus' Kiss. It's a ... well, it's a drug that people can take that makes the senses really active, but it's not very good for paying attention to anything productive. It's more meant to be pleasant to drink.
[Ahem. Discussing aphrodisiacs, always fun.]
But, it's also really more the sort of thing people take with someone they're dating.
[One blink and then she sighed, laughing.] Yeah, sorry. Wasn't sure if you'd heard of them. I actually don't use it much, ever. Super aphro is kind of overwhelming, so on top of me being me... it's a little much for Asuka.
Yeah, they're ... well, you kind of need to be doing that to want one. It's not safe to sneak into someone's drink. There's sympathetic magic involved that protects them.
Well, there's this one part that you have to boil it off a little to get it it to the right thickness. It's late in the stages and you get kind of a contact high. It's not as potent as the real thing, though, so it's not as bad.
Makes the colors in the room dance a lot, though. I have to make sure things are ready beforehand or it doesn't get done right.
...that, and I have to use a little bit of black powder to crack one of the ingredients right at the start, so there's fireworks.
Small bit of them, yep. [She laughed and nodded. They were thinking of different types, definitely. Different worlds, different views.] Wouldn't mind showing you, but it gets a little trippy. Once this is set up right, I ... well, I've got enough stock to make one more potion of it. I'm not planning to make more before the war ends for obvious reasons.
[He should... probably stay away from the stuff entirely, really.]
But y'know, once the war's over, you might just end up with a decent bunch of customers lookin' for stuff like that. [Because really, what better way to celebrate and all that jazz?]
They might. I used to make them when the war was quieter, but there wasn't much call. Still, I know my supplier. We win this, and I can get enough for a few doses fast, make them up in a batch.
Eh? Well, yeah of course. I've still got a few tabs of acid in the supply stock, and I do grow a small amount of hash in the greenhouse, back behind the other plants. No need to have mooching stoners breaking in after all. It's not like I'm that expensive.
[She snickered.]
Let me know if you want to toke up sometime. It's been a while since I used to... heh, guy I used to do that with back home was green haired too, to boot.
Heh, fair enough. I'll probably still have them when this is all done if you change your mind. But I understand. It's not exactly something everyone's willing to do after all. Lot of folks had some sort of hangup about it back home.
