[im sleeping but for the weekend:

Snow’s probably having a pretty usual afternoon at the cat cafe! Delicious sandwiches, rambunctious kitties, people watching and people meeting, what’s not to like?

what may turn it unusual is catching a guy hesitating outside the cafe door, lingering in the little security foyer that they have so the cats can’t instantly run away if they get through the inside door. it’s the hesitation itself that draws the eye. his uncertainty is so palpable it’s almost physical.

hey, doesn’t he look real familiar? but—that’s not Aloe, is it? the hair and clothes aren’t right.

Hey, it's been a while!

but the face he turns towards Snow is sunny and cheerful, and he makes it the rest of the way into the cafe to head over, even if there’s still some lingering uncertainty]

I’ve been here and there! Couldn’t find a place I liked enough to settle down in until I headed back here.

I—yeah, he invited me back, but I got a place for now, up above the workshop I’m at. It’s pretty different, but I think it’s better for us to each keep our own space right now. We both kinda got used to it, you know?

Is it really that much of a surprise? I guess I needed to see what was out there before I decided what I wanted to do…that’s all. And in Forge I can focus up on making the stuff I wanna make.

[it is entirely possible that he has said something before like ‘as long as I’m not in a Family I can make sure I make what I want to make, not what they want me to make.’ granted it would have been years ago and people change, but. hm.]

I guess I came around on this one. If you're not in like, Family adminstration, it's pretty good? No one's pushing me to make anything I don't want in a freelance wokshop, and the resources are better than I could manage myself. Other people're important too, or you can get too focused in on just one way to do things.
